At 5,895m Mt Kilimanjaro is one of the largest volcanoes to break through the Earth’s crust – why not take on the challenge to reach the cloud covered summit for #teamcardio.

The trip
The route that you will be taking starts just south of the Kenya-Tanzania border and has been unused for many years but is now open for climbing once again. Experienced guides consider this route to be both more manageable and more beautiful than the main Marangu trail. You will experience temperatures drop overnight and rise during the day with you often looking down onto the clouds.
Groups have an excellent success rate for reaching the summit, but don't underestimate the challenge Kilimanjaro brings. Most trekkers will never have experienced a day as tough as this, with 1,000m of ascent and over 2,000m of descent. It is however victory day! So take on the ultimate challenge for Cardiomyopathy UK and summit the largest free standing mountain in the world.
