Cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle.
At least one person in 500 of the UK population has a type of cardiomyopathy and it affects people of all ages.
The condition often runs in families and so is called an inherited disease. Although it is not curable, the symptoms can usually be treated so that most people can lead a long and full life. There are several different types of cardiomyopathy:
Arrhythmic cardiomyopathy
