We are delighted to announce the publication of our latest resources aimed at children affected by cardiomyopathy.

These packs are the first of their kind in the UK for children living with a diagnosis of cardiomyopathy and have been made possible by a grant from BBC Children in Need.

Copies of these resources have been sent to children's hospitals and it is hoped that clinicians will use these to support affected children and young people in their care. Further copies for clinical or personal use can be downloaded here or ordered through our 'Order resources' page.

Our activity pack has been developed to enable younger children who are visiting hospital to understand their surroundings a little better and encourage them to talk to someone they trust about how they are feeling, whilst passing the time in the waiting room.

Our information booklet for children gives an age appropriate overview of cardiomyopathy, what to expect from hospital visits and the impact of cardiomyopathy on physical and mental health. There are spaces for children to write and draw to express their thoughts and feelings, and to share these with trusted adults.

Our information booklet for older children and young people provides information on cardiomyopathy in simpler language than our standard resources; it focuses on the impacts of cardiomyopathy to lifestyle and mental health, and offers ways to reach out for support and further information.
